Pearl Jam, Depeche Mode, Tupac and more get nominated for RnR HOF

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced their nominees for 2017 today and some solid bands get nominations, including Pearl Jam, Journey, Jane's Addiction, Tupac Shakur, Yes, Depeche Mode, the Cars, ELO and more. My gut says right off the bat PJ, Journey and Tupac get in right away. I'd say the others have to wait a bit, though the old dudes that are still a part of the voting may push the Cars in over Journey. We'll see. The OFFICIAL rules are below along with info on us getting to vote.

To be eligible for nomination, an individual artist or band must have released its first single or album at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination. The 2017 nominees had to release their first recording no later than 1991.

For the fifth consecutive year, the public will have the opportunity to vote alongside the more than 800 artists, historians and music industry insiders of the Rock Hall voting body. From now until December 6, fans can vote on for the nominees they'd like to see inducted. The top five acts will comprise a "fan's ballot" that will count as one of the ballots that determine the class of 2017.

If anything, I'm sure Eddie Vedder will have some fun with his speech if PJ gets in.
