It’s been two years since Cold War Kids‘ last album, 2017’s LA Divine, and now the boys are back, announcing their next effort, NEW AGE NORMS.
Along with the announcement, the band dropped the 1st single from it, “Complainer”. The song takes on a person we all know, who talks the talk but doesn’t necessarily walk the walk. “Now you’re out on your own, don’t know where you belong/Don’t sit around and complain about it/You say you want to change this world/Don’t sit around and complain about it,” the hook rings in the upbeat, funky tune. The latter takes a more sentimental tone, reminiscing on easy summer nights. You can listen to it below.
