NFL Week 3 Recap: Them Broncos, Them Bears, The Boys… Oof

Another week, another Sunday spent in front of a TV for 8 hours of commercial free football. As week 3 is said and done, we are starting to get a better understanding of these teams. Some teams look awesome, some look terrible, some look so confusing you have no idea what to make of them. But it is that very confusion that keeps us hooked and wanting more. With all of that being said, let’s look back at another enthralling weekend of football.

Thursday:

  • Either the 49ers have the scariest defense in the NFL, or The Giants are hilariously undermanned against competent teams. Daniel Jones looked like he’s got PTSD after being under constant duress Thursday Night.

Sunday:

  • In the battle of teams that blow games more than any fan base, The Vikings take the crown over the Chargers. Throwing an interception in the end zone to lose the game is as Vikings as it gets. The Chargers, though won the game, they did lose a big weapon in Mike Willams as he unfortunately has torn his ACL.
  • Are the Jaguars good? Or are they the Jacksonville Jaguars we all know and roll our eyes at? I’m leaning toward the latter.
  • The Browns defense is legit. An absolute pack of DAWGS. Hopefully their QB can stay out of the Dawg Pound. The Titans are ready for a reboot.
  • The Lions are legit and its good to see the city of Detroit have something to believe in. Jared Goff at home is a whole other person at home. Desmond Ridder isn’t the answer for The Falcons.
  • Speaking of who isn’t the answer. Zach Wilson isn’t the Jets savior, who has now let the Patriots beat the Jets for the 15th time in a row. New York City football teams are in absolute Hell and I’m sorry.
  • The only New York team you can believe in, the Buffalo Bills look like they’re gonna be just fine. Commanders, Sam Howell is a little wild, but he’s actually really entertaining to watch play.
  • The Miami Dolphins became the third team in NFL history to score 70 points. The record for most points by a team was 72 by Washington back in 1966. The Denver Broncos are what feels like an all time low, but hey can’t get worse from here right?… Right???
  • The Ravens can’t go a week without an injury in an important position. Another stud running back leaves the game injured. A missed PI (pass interference) call leads to an impressive Colts win. Minshew Magic back?
  • Speaking of magic, the Era of Looooooove makes its home debut in Lambeau Field, Wisconsin. Jordan Love ties the record for biggest 4th quarter comeback since Aaron Rodgers against the Bears back in week 1 of 2018. Looks like the Packers could be in good hands for years to come. With that being said, the Saints outplayed them for most of that game. If Derrick Carr doesn’t get hurt, the Saints could very well be 3-0.
  • Seahawks vs Panthers: The game no one probably watched, and was probably the best game in the afternoon slate. Easily the best jersey game of the week, not much to say about The Panthers while Andy Dalton leads the charge.
  • Taylor Swift got more screen time at the Chiefs game than the Chicago Bears did, and honestly it was more entertaining to watch her celebrate than watch Justin Fields. The Chiefs got a “fix me” game while the Bears continue to spiral. If you know a Chicago fan, maybe reach out and see how they’re doing.
  • The Arizona Cardinals might have won their season’s Super Bowl. Cardinals dominated on every level and lost a lot of people money betting on the Cowboys…….. A tough week for Cowboys fans as after losing Trevon Diggs to the season with a torn ACL, their defense get cooked. As Chris Broussard calls it, we were waiting on their “F” game.
  • The Steelers, elite defense, brutal offense. The Raiders, brutal defense, brutal offense, brutal quarterback play, brutal coaching, everything is brutal.

Monday:

  • The Eagles look like they’re back in full stride. Jalen Hurts is a beast and the Eagles looked poised to dominate the NFC again. The Bucs look like they’re gonna have a fun season, Baker may not be great, but he does make them fun to watch.
  • The Rams can’t decide if they want to be good or not. They could and should be 2-1, instead they blew a perfect opportunity against a reeling Bengals team. The Bengals finally figured out, if you give Jamar Chase the ball, great things happen. Are the Bengals the best 1-2 team out there, I’m not sure they even know.

There is your week 3 cliff notes. Good news for football fans, there is a lot of football left in the season. Bad news for Bears fans, there is a lot of season left.
