Actually they look pretty cool, and may be worth buying even if you don't have a cassette player anymore. Or hit one of the thrift shops in the Tower or downtown to find one. A cardigan for $137,000 dollars????? Yes, as it was the cardigan worn by Kurt Cobain on MTV Unplugged: Live in New York. The olive green cardigan sold for a whopping $137,000 at an auction in Los Angeles.The auction house, Julien’s, noted that the Manhattan brand sweater is a blend of acrylic, mohair and Lycra and features a burn hole and some discoloration. Julien’s says it obtained the sweater from “a close friend of the Cobain family.” It was originally estimated to fetch between $40,000 and $60,000. Looks like it went for a bit more than that at the auction.
