How Many Times Do I Have To Tell You?!

When one Pennsylvania college student forgot to take out the trash on a recent visit home, his mom mailed it to him in a care package with a friendly reminder to not let it happen again.

How do you handle chores in your home?  How was it in your childhood home?  In my house as a kid, responsibilities included keeping our rooms clean and doing our own laundry.  Basically just clean up after yourself and take care of your animals.

As a parent, I'm trying to teach my kids age appropriate responsibilities (ex. dishes in the sink, keep your room clean, clean up the bathroom counter that you inevitably make a mess every single time you brush your teeth or wash your hands) but sometimes it's just easier to do it myself.  Knowing that, I'll struggle through my child doing a terrible job at moping because 1) I hate doing it and 2) I know they've got to learn.

So back to the article about the mom and the garbage… I'm going to file this under "mom goals."  Click here for the full story.
