Look, I like Morrissey………..just the other day I decided to download 'Viva Hate' as I noticed I didn't have it, and enjoyed listening to that album. So I guess, it's obviously not the music but the man, who all of a sudden has become a douche of 'Beiber' proportions. So, as of yesterday, he has cancelled another tour due to illness, which is fine, but he took to True to You and in his post explained that he had contracted the virus from the tour's opening act, Kristeen Young, who, it said, "confessed to 'a horrendous cold'" in Miami which forced him to cancel the Atlanta show. "For the good of all, Kristeen was asked to step down from the immediate upcoming shows, but instead she decided to leave the tour entirely," the statement said. "Morrissey and the band wish her well and hope she is now in good health." So the opening act got you sick???? I can't imagine Morrissey sharing anything with the opener, microphones, dressing rooms, etc.
FYI, Kristeen posted on her Facebook page that she did not decide to leave the tour, instead claiming that she "was asked to leave" and was told there would be a new support artist in Boston. "I am very sorry that Morrissey is not feeling well," she wrote. "But I will not tolerate these lies particularly about my health. This is really too much and bizarre."
This follows up last year's tour of the States and Canada, which came to an early end after a series of serious illnesses, including pneumonia, bleeding ulcers and Barrett’s oesophagus. A subsequent live comeback in South America was also interrupted after a bout of food poisoning.
AND Morrissey’s US tour began May 7 in San Jose, CA — where he was rushed onstage by fans, cutting the show short — and was originally supposed to extend to June 21, with a closing performance at New York City’s Barclays Center. Following his May 31 show in Miami, Morrissey cancelled his performance in Atlanta and postponed dates in Atlantic City, Baltimore and Washington D.C., all of which are now cancelled as well.
This kind of stuff has been happening for the last few years and tours, plus his problems with opening bands playing too loud, and just all around lameness. So Morrissey, go get well, write your book, but if you don't want to tour or whatever, then don't. Just stay home, I would say just ignore him, but as he says below, the more you ignore him, the closer he gets………..true???? Who knows…..
