KISS Against the Machine in the RnR Hall of Fame

Yes, I'm a card carrying, action figure buying, dressing up on Halloween, buying every album and other trinket, member of the KISS ARMY. Since 5 years old, when my dad took me to my first KISS show at the Civic Auditorium in Bakersfield (Pops is in radio too, he had to do some backstage stuff). And while we all know the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is kind of joke, it's still cool when your favorite band gets in. Two of mine are going in this year, Nirvana and KISS. Though you would think KISS is the only band going in based on the almost daily posts, articles, interviews, etc. It's been embarassing with the 4 original members bantering back and forth (my opinion by the way, KISS should be allowed to perform with who they want, Ace + Peter have been gone, left, asked to leave, whatever). All that being said, I'm pretty damn excited that Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine, the Nightwatchmen, and now, the E Street Band, will be the dude to give the speech and induct them in.

I have a feeling that Tom will be the one to put the bow on this entire thing, he's well respected by everyone, his skills speak for themselves, and he'll be able to put into words what it is to be a fan of KISS, the highs, lows, embarassments, the times I would get made fun of in high school for having them on my binder (next to a giant Pearl Jam 'VS' cut out by the way). Tom will be able to share why he's a KISS fan or more importantly, why WE are KISS fans. So, I'm glad Tom Morello has taken the challenge to induct the band into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He'll be the voice of all of us KISS ARMY Members, then Gene and Paul can on the road to 'celebrate their 40th anniversary as KISS', Ace can keep promising 'a new solo album' and Peter……well, he can just keep being Peter knowing he's now a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and this can all be over and we can move on.

Now we can focus on the awkwardness of the Nirvana induction with Grohl, Novoselic, and Courtney all on stage together AND badger Tom Morello for new Rage Against the Machine music
